Addressing Gender-Based Violence at Kīriakũ Waves Radio:

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a pervasive issue that affects individuals and communities worldwide. At Kīriakũ Waves Radio, we recognize the urgency of addressing this critical issue and its impact on families, relationships, and society as a whole. Our “Faith and Family” program is committed to raising awareness, providing support, and fostering dialogue on GBV from a faith-based perspective.

Through our online radio section, we provide a platform for survivors, advocates, and experts to share their stories, insights, and resources related to GBV. Our goal is to empower listeners with knowledge, tools, and strategies to prevent and respond to GBV in their own lives and communities.

One of the key components of our GBV programming is education. We strive to educate our audience about the different forms of GBV, including intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and harmful traditional practices. By raising awareness about these issues, we hope to challenge harmful norms and behaviors that perpetuate GBV.

In addition to education, we also focus on prevention and intervention. We invite guests who are working on the frontlines of GBV prevention and response to share their expertise and insights. Through these discussions, we aim to equip our listeners with practical skills and resources to identify, address, and prevent GBV in their own lives and communities.

At the heart of our GBV programming is a commitment to faith-based perspectives on gender equality, respect, and dignity. We believe that faith communities have a unique role to play in ending GBV by promoting values of love, compassion, and justice. Through our program, we seek to engage faith leaders and communities in meaningful dialogue and action to address GBV.

Our online radio section serves as a safe space for survivors of GBV to share their stories and find support. We provide information about local and national resources for survivors, including helplines, shelters, and counseling services. We also offer spiritual guidance and encouragement for those seeking healing and restoration after experiencing GBV.

As we address GBV on Kīriakũ Waves Radio’s “Faith and Family” program, we do so with a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and commitment to justice. We believe that by working together, we can create a world where all individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and equality, free from the fear of violence.

Thank you for joining us in this important conversation. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by GBV and create a future where everyone can live in safety and peace.
